At a petrol pump, a man came over and offered his services as a painter to a lady filling petrol in her car and left his visiting card. She said nothing but accepted his card out of sheer kindness and got into the car. The man then got into a car driven by another person.
As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realised that the odour was on her hand; the same hand with which she had received the card from the person at the service station.
She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help.
The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath.
Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.
This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA'. (Not known to people so far but
sufficient information is available on the net) and it is used by people who
wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of
them. This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on a simple card or paper..
So please take care and make sure you don't accept cards when you are alone or from someone on the streets. This applies also to those making house calls who hand you a card offering their services.

When I mentioned our culture of 'live & let live", I didn't mean that we are the trusting sorts. I meant that we waver between indifference (as exemplified by cases like Nirbhaya's) and diffidence (meaning that we lack the confidence to assert our rights). In the case of the petrol pump attendants, they could either be thinking why should they bother or they could be thinking what right they have to tell anyone else to go away from there. more

very true but i dont agree with you Rajiv its not the trusting nature but more to do with why should we get involved nature..lol..people are too busy nowadays that we have come to such a level that we even pass a couple lying on the road raped, naked and bleeding on 16th Dec 2012 which resulted in the death of India's Daughter :-( more

I don't think the petrol pump attendants are in cahoots with such people. I think its more to do with our Indian culture of 'live & let live'. You will never hear of people seeing any strangers or unknown people in their localities & reporting them to the authorities as suspicious. This does happen in the west & the law enforcement authorities also take it seriously. But it's time we became more vigilant since our inherent trusting natures are being taken advantage of be unscrupulous people. more

Hi Rajiv, thanks for the warning as I also have been approached by many such guys but what is the petrol pump people doing, allowing these men to use their premises to do such things?? I am not able to understand, are they in cohoots with the thugs or they are not aware about such crime?? We need to warn the petrol pump owners about this. more
