The admission to schools must not be in the hands of trustees. This should rest with headmaster, headmistress or principal of the schools.
Even for play group, lkg, ukg the trustees asks underhand money of Rs. 2 to 3 lakhs. Even if the school and residence of child is just 50 ft away still this is the situation.
I don't understand what is the need of school fees to be Rs 1 lakh per year. What do they teach in schools? Do the teach Sanskrit, Vedanta and Upanishads? If the answer is yes then it is worth paying. But in schools they don't even teach Hindu/Indian culture.
In most of the schools trustees employ teachers at very low salary and at end of the month they force teachers to sign a vouchers having very high figures as a proof of having paid high salary. What one can expect from such schools?
If a person has 3 children and if he has to spend 3 lakhs per year for children's education then what will remain for him and his family to get 2 ends meet? Moreover schools force parents to buy dress, books and notebooks from schools only on which trustees get huge commission. Will Government do anything for this?
Most of the schools don't have playground for children. Schools which don't have even laboratories are granted permission to start schools.
One knows how much commission or underhand money is to be paid to Medical council to start a Medical college. Even to get admission in MBBS one has to pay 20 to 30 lakhs and in addition to this even if it is a Government college still the annual fees is not less than 3 lakhs and in case of private colleges it is 10 to 12 lakhs.
Can Modi Government do something for this corruption?

There is a hype going on in the socoity the Government Schools are bad and Private Schools are better. I see now a days Government School children are doing much better than Private Schools. Only thing lacking in Goverment Schools are the infrastructure and health and hygiene is not given importance if it made compulsory for the Government Schools all the facilities like IITs and NITs there would not so much spending on Child education in this country. The Education and its infrastructure are the most urgent and important need in India and other things can be second to Education. Why the policy makers forget this. We have the highest number of young people and if they are given proper Education in reasonable cost India will become a developed and Super Power above any Country in this world. This I realized when was a member of Commonwealth Study conference way back in 1986, found India is a best country to live in this world, if only we take national interest and health and hygiene as top item in our country's development program. If this is given no one can stop the progress and the policy makers have to take a oTh that they will improve in this field before they establish high tech industries or Smart Cities. Most of the time our policy mKers make politics all matters for their personal benefit not in the national interest. more

Very sad to note people are so ignorant they can not differentiate the responsibilities of center and state government. They are very happy in blaming the Modi government for everything which is in the very ambit of state government's responsibility. Except for central schools all the schools come under the state government control and it is their responsibility to control who ever may be ruling the state. more

it is true that pvt school and college are taking money, why, very simple, the standard of teaching, and teacher, for ex my case, my childrens are studying in KV, but very crucial year of X th std and inter I, II yr, there is no teacher or no good teacher or they are in absent, by force my childrens taken tution, think sir, why, already getting marks in CBSE is difficult, and every year on or the other important subject question papers are tuff, CBSE board itself accept this every year, but not re-exam or libral valuation, because of this, my child even though good candidate, just missed for IIT/NIT, who is responsible for this,my child life become?..who is going to take action sir, when it is going to happen.. more

Only people who has power and money gets the land at throwaway price and permission easily for school. They are like our Congress/BJP/SP ..... politicians. They are not running the school for charity. So do not expect any favourable action from the above politicians. Only thing at best can be done is to force the govt schools to teach efficiently. Parents and other citizens can choose their representatives to join the School teachers to help in the decision making of Govt. schools. more

Firstly, you cannot expect any government to regulate these kind of malpractices may it be Modi government or Gandhi government. Who are running schools, all big shots who pay money to all parties during elections and in return no politician is willing to take action on these people. Secondly, how many schools in Chennai have playgrounds? But see the fee structure. What are the government schools doing? How many government employees are willing to put their children in government schools? To earn, they run behind government jobs because there is no responsibility for their work but when comes for schooling, they go for private. The most funniest part is that even government teachers are not willing to admit their children into government schools because they know the standard of the schools they teach. more
