whenever I travel in Europe the compartment in charge( TTR in India) checks and COLLECTS the ticket and keeps it with him. And when your destination comes he comes to your place and wakes you if it is night/u are asleep or reminds you if u are awake and hands over the ticket back. It is a part of his duty.In India, TTR does not come at all and he has a berth to sleep!!!!. This should be done as people traveling in a/c compartments may not know in/to which station the train is stopping or approaching to, as the windows are closed and view is restricted more

We r paying substantial in upper classes, However the service is wanting. Why go afar, see the condition of A/C first class. sometimes the cabins are so old that they give a scary look, then comes the tapestry and toilets. All said n done, the condition is not rosy as on date in most trains. I concur with Mr Kuttappan that the TT on many stations make unauth person occupy seats/berths on consideration to generate extra income. It is quite frequent during night time n short distances. more
Do not compare India railways and European railways. First we have ask how much we are paying and what service we are expecting from the fare we paid. more
one TT is looking after 3 compartments. some times ticket examinars not all) joined in one compartment taking alcholic drinks. if the department is engaging a GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATING AGENCIES TO CHECK THE THINGS YOU CAN CAUGHT HOLD OF THEM. THE TTs.(not all) are allowing persons occupying the reservation compartment by getting nomial amount from them. they are occupying the space in between the bench and also occupying the door ways. the security people walk one end to another end seeing all this. the attenders in the ac coaches only doing the distribution of the pillow and bed sheets. afterwards we have to search for them I AM NOT TELLING LIE. IF THE DEPARTMENT ENGAGE A PROPER AGENCIES TO CHECK THE TRUTH OF MY COMPLAINT IT WILL COME OUT TO LIGHT. CHECKING SHOULD BE LIKE WHAT THE IT AUTHORITIES DOING DURING RAID THE BUSINESS PLACE AND RESIDENTS. more
Mr Ananthakrishnan, Do u think a TT can manage all second class passengers in India? I think the poor chap will be a victim of massive stampede. Leave aside trains, even while deboarding the planes, what chaos people create. I have observed ladies, generally in 2nd class make the children defecate on the floor and do not bother to clean it afterwards. Population explosion is the cause n all kind of infrastructure burst. Secondly highly subsidized fares of second class on political considerations are the root causes on lack of security, improvement and safety. more
