Becoming a member of the Automobile Association of Upper India (AAUI) as car owner can fetch one the facility of hiring a car driver, whenever needed, at reasonable cost. We made use of this facility for over ten years before we employed a driver in regular employment. The office of the AAUI can be reached at 011-2685 2033/2685 2052/2661 1034. They also help you renew your driving licence. They have subsidised hotel all over India and offer several other discounts......Hope this helps! more
I feel each one of should have at our back of the mind ' what can we offer to the Government to run better' than expecting the Government to do everything for us. A "(brigdaier)) who can afford a car, can he not hire a driver on need base system rather than suggesting the Govt to provide for such service. more
Impossible yes, but I do not think it makes all of us selfish. Why should we expect anyone to provide any service free. The perspective from the other end would be of extortion. The reality is that in Delhi, and I am sure elsewhere too, it is now quite easy to hire, and even employ, a driver on need basis, and the rates are more or less standardised, reasonable, and negotiable. more
