As indicated earlier, if refund of large amount is expected then the case may be taken up with the IT department by visiting the IT office of your area. To me it appears to be the only appropriate solution. more

What is the explanation given by your CA. Was the return filed on line? If yes, then ask him for the copy of Form V he had sent to IT Department at Bengaluru. If it has been sent then please log in to Income tax website.. Incometaxindiaefiling.. And go to "outstanding demand or my return form". From there you can find whether your ITR has been processed or whether any refund /outstanding demand is due. Please do this spade work before thinking of following a legal path. As far as I think this mess is all due to incompetent CA who doesn't seemed to have bothered to provide you efficient service. I am sure by following the above you will definitely be able to get the matter resolved at the earliest.. more

Atul I have sought the service of a chartered accountant who at a very meagre amount files ITR. At the same time he also advises and gets issues pertaining to ITR. You may want to consider this option (consulting a CA - you don't have to pay him anything for the consultation ) - you would get appropriate advice more
