Before going smart, let's become normal citizen with ample amount of civility. Let's not encroach our colony roads by long ramps, personalised flower beds and barricaded vehicle parking. Let's not raise unauthorized non-technically constructed road blocks, also not race through the colony roads with breakneck speed while instructing the youngsters too against it. Let's not run unauthorized commercial units in residential colonies and often block the roads by vehicles of clients or suppliers. The starting point for creating smart cities is being civil cities. more

Why wait for becoming normal citizen? We can attempt both. We shall bring civic sense and simultaneously become smart city. For development we shall not put riders. more

Government local/ state/central are all involved in decision making and implementation of SMART CITIES. Basic needs of a smart city creation are 1. MAIN BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE CREATION TO STREAMLINE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, COMMUNICATIONS, ELECTRIC POWER, WATER, SEWERAGE, DRAINAGE , PUBLIC SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION , SUPPORT FACILITIES CREATION LIKE MEDICAL, EDUCATION, FOOD JOINTS, ETC. 2. Most people living without domestic AID. 3. STREAM LINE LAW AND ORDER. In our country poorest to Richest people LIVE in any place in good numbers with varying living standards. This is the biggest hurdle in creation of SMART CITIES. Now take GHAZIABAD itself. It has 208 unauthorized colonies besides jhuggies and other slum dwellers. Lot of domestic Aid population is given shelter in the employers homes in POSH DEVELOPED COLONIES. Almost all water bodies were converted in RESIDENTIAL/INDUSTRIAL USE. Now ground water levels are going down every year and 80 percent WATER needs are met by Ground water through bore wells. Roads are made not to last for more than 2 years and start needing repairs in 6 months. Power cuts are never to GO. Every year City is loaded with around 1 lac more migrants as our GREAT CONSTITUTION FREEDOM OF RELOCATION ANY WHERE IN MOTHERLAND. POOR families also want to add at least 2 children unmindful of the liabilities to raise their families ahead. So city adds more poor children than the sustainable class children. So every passing day living is becoming more UNSAFE AND COSTLY. Even Middle class is feeling heat and agitating for more FEES in PUBLIC SCHOOLS for their children. more

Greetings! Very true Mr Chnadra. Any change that we visualize must happen at the grassroots level. Should we mean Change? Sadly, absence of Planning has converted our city into a concrete jungle, and non of our so called Builders have a vision for Well planned and well defined cities. I wish people push themselves to make their surroundings Smart and that would eventually turn our city in to a SMART city. God bless more
