Mr.Sajjan Agarwalla I presume that you are working now. The best thing is to get the old account balance transferred to your new account. Actually what you should have done is to give the EPF a/c No. and UAN to your new employer and the contributions should have been made to that account only. Withdrawls from EPF account prior to retirement has several conditions to be satisfied. Your previous employer's office has to send clearance to EPF office. Now the best thing is to see that the balance in your old account is transferred to your new account. Please go to regional provident fund office and get clarification on transfer of funds. Attestation of claim by Gazetted Officer etc is only when the company is closed / employer is untraceable. If the company is running, EPFO will not accept any claim which is not attested by the employer/ authorised signatory. more

Get it attested by any one of the following 1. Manager of a bank (PSU preferred) 2. By any gazetted officer. 3. Magistrate / Post / Sub Post Master / Notary this option is available and to justify why you had to get this attested by writing a letter addressed to the EPF commissioner. They will accept this. more

Hi Sajjan, Note the following: If you have not taken up any employment after leaving the prev. employer, then only yu are permitted for the withdrawl. Next, Employer is bound to sign your claim form. You send a letter by regd, post to your employer, with a cc copy to the RPFC-II, Gurgaon. Even then if your employer doesn't revert, then raise a online grievance to the RPFC-II, Gurgaon, and ask him to provide necessary support. more
