There are various products sold on line through different web / app in which the products are not sold as given in the web / app. There are lots of difference in material quality / material used / third party products / specifications or pictures are not same as given in the advertisement, higher pricing than market price, defective products, duplicate products, low quality products and with lots of fake products especially the electronic items. The online company does not have any access or source to the product, they do not have any qualified persons to check the quality of products or have they seen the products. At the moment there is no system that the web based companies have direct access to the third party products and a department to check the quality concerned (QA/QC) and make direct delivery from the online company. Present they take order from us and in turn inform the third party company to deliver the products on our given names. Neither we have direct accesss to the manufacturer to change the defect products or any access to the online company once you made an online payment to refund the amount and return the products etc. These systems are to be stramlined and all the products should be delivered by the company who is accepting our fund through on line and they should be made responsible to refund the amount to replace the products if it is not in conformity with the original advertisements. Unless this is implemented the customers would be cheated daily and they will loose their fund. more

I feel, the Ministry of Industry is not taking adequate steps to protect the interest of the consumers who make online purchases. As far as I know, the companies who is doing online sales like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal etc has to register with the Industries department or some other govt agency. When the govt giving license to a company there should be specific terms and conditions like providing details of the product (specifications, where made etc), also treatment of defective products or products which does not match the specification given while ordering and proper refund policy and return policy. Who is selling (example Amazon) the product should be made accountable for the products they supply. It is not feasible for a consumer to followup with company whose products one get from the online seller. I believe Nirmala Seetharaman is one of most intelligent and efficient minister and if we bring to her notice, she will ensure that there is a remedial mechanism for all the issues consumers face. Also the Online sales company should keep a link on their main page to place complaint to the govt regulatory authority. Govt also should ensure that action is taken within 2 weeks on any complaint. Also the govt website show the rating based on number of complaints and their redressal on their website, so that consumer can decide from the track record of the company. From my experience Amazon India refund policy, cash return policy are much better than others. At least we can return and get our money back if not satisfied. But they do not provide details about the products like specifications, and WHERE MADE. The china made products never provide any information. I don't want to buy China Made, but we can know when it is delivered. So almost all online sellers hide this info and cheat the consumers. Last year I bought two Llyold ACs, nothing in it on where it is made, but written in Assembled in Delhi. I am sure the china made stuff all inside even won't even last for 3 years and I lost my money. If I bought an Indian made Voltas, or General evenif I have to shed few more, still it could last at least 3 more years. So cheating by such companies should be stopped. more
To solve this type of problem I have the following opinion 1. There should be a govt body or govt approved body , with whom all the companies doing online saling of products has to register with it. The body will check the authenticity of the company and allow to register with suitable terms and conditions. 2.While purchasing one has to see the name of the company on the site of the approved body, if it is enlisted then go for purchasing. 3. After registration if the company does not oblige the rules or Complain against the company for supplying wrong or damaged product etc , disqualifies the company for doing online business and subsequently the company name will be deleted from the site of the approved body(with a warning that the company is a fraud). 4. The customer may have to pay a .5% as service charge for the tension free business. more
A very valid and viable comment ventured by Mr Sashidharan. This situation is certainly not a "first". So, how do we find a solution? more
yes many are theres in shopclues. better feedback so that seller is forced to remove that item. more
Present on-line sale companies should adopt M.Sashidharan's suggestion so that returning sub-standard parts is avoided and hence avoid wastage of packing material thereby reduce time and money involved in packing. more
