It has been reported by one of the buyer of a car that the car dealer has given him an invoice at the time of purchase of the car which does not show separately the amount towards road tax payable directly by the dealer to the RTO. I personally feel the amount need to be shown separately. I would request members to kindly look into the invoice given to them by the dealer at the time of purchase as to whether the road tax amount has been shown separately and just wondering whether any of the member can share the scanned copy of the invoice for further study and provide their inputs / views on such practices for taking up the issue with appropriate authorities. more

Dear Virmani Ji I purchased a SKODA car from a dealer in Faridabad he charged me insurance 75000/- n when I objected that it should be not 50/51000/- he reduced the difference n I paid the balance and he charged 1,80,000/- as registration charges and when I asked him will this be actual registration charges he promised to refund the excess amount. He delayed the registration for about a month and a half and to my surprise he charged me about 25000/- extra n deliver me the second key after about three n half month and left the agency of SKODA cars. I took up the matter with SKODA manufacturing company and inspite of their representatives promise that the amount will be refunded nothing has happened. Inspite of my various written reminders n telephone calls nothing is moving. I get a reply that we will talk to the dealer n come back to me. There is complete combination of the manufacturer n dealer to loot public. God bless INDIA. more

@Shri G.C.Mathur, Thanks for your comments. But in practical, the dealers does not issue RTO receipt basically the compulsion must be the difference in the amount being charged by the dealers from the buyers and the amount being remitted by the dealers at RTOs. That might be the reason for not enabling online payments by Transport Departments. What I feel after getting inputs from other members on the matter, the issue could be taken up with Ministry of Transport to ensure that the buyer can make payment directly to the RTO. I appeal all the members to share their views on the same and preferably with a copy of the invoice and the payment made to the dealer. more

The car dealer has got to give separately (from the invoice) the RTO receipt with Nr, date, and amount paid at the time of handing over of the car to the buyer. It is the property of the buyer. more
