we always complain only about the reserved compartment & pssengers. In fact the unreserved compartments need a lot more attention. They also need toilets and seating comforts. If this is improved, then they won't come to reserved compartments.
gradually introduce shuttle services between junctions, so that short distance travellers' requirements are met.
With internet facilities available, the vacant seat allotments can be made online with minimum arbitrary allotments by TTEs.
There is an EXCELLENT practice by the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. Before the bus starts, if there are any missing passengers then they are contacted over phone and informed. In railways it may be possible to contact wait listed & RAC passengers before births are alloted to somebody else. The TTE will have to submit the call records after each trip, along with such out of the way allotments. more

Why is it necessary to have all coaches an exact copy of each other, years on. Why can't we have coaches with automatic doors which close once the trains leave the platform and open only when we reach the next halt. And the small automatic step that opens up for the safety and comfort of the passenger while boarding and getting off. Why can't there be announcements on the train as to the next station of halt, if its running on time, or late, and if so by how many minutes? Why are not railway tracks cordoned off from mainland, to avoid mishaps, instead of the present system, where anyone can walk across, or even dangerously push people onto the tracks? Why can't the staff manning the railways like cleaners, electricians, etc. who travel along, be made responsible for all the compartments under their supervision, including the unreserved, instead of just hiking their pays every year on and on, with no improvement in services rendered? more
Railways.....PLEASE.... why don't we have separate platforms for goods and passengers. This itself will clean up the clogged platforms and make them Swachh and passenger friendly, also giving a cleaner look. Also stop issuing tickets for unreserved class indiscriminately. There should be a limit on the number of tickets issued in the unreserved compartments keeping in view the number of seats available in a compartment, so that people are not filled in like sardines, where they can neither breathe nor move. more
good idea. but i am sure it will not be implemented as it will affect monopoly of TTE's more
RAILWAYS... plz bring in improvement more
