Persual of the news item appeared in Navbharat Times dtd. 18th October 2015 make all of us surprise and curious to find out the objectivity of NGT (National Green Tribunal) and the role of the politicians in defying its order. Some of the points are: 1. What was the objective of banning of vehicles of 10 years and 15 years old? 2. Was it really the control of pollution in NCR. 3. If yes then is the suggestion of Haryana Govt. ethical.? Will NOC issued in NCR and getting fitness certificate elsewhere in the State would meet the objective of controlling pollution and then why "No objection certificate" and why not fitness certificate in NCR? Members may like to go through and suggest with their views. The news report is attached for ready reference more

Unlike India, seller has to assure availability of service spares for at least 15 years. Vehicle that are fit and meet pollution limits should be allowed to be re-registered. Technical issues are better decided by experts rather than judges. more

I have seen vehicles of more than 15 years vintage working satisfactory in US and Australia. There should no Mughal Order like the one given by NGT. Vehicles may run from ordinarily from about 3,000 km/year upto about 20,000 kms/ year. Will road worthiness of same type of vehicles one covering 30,000 kms and other covering 2,50,000 km in ten years be same and definitely NOT. Thus logically permitting vehicles on road should logically be on their road worthiness and not on age basis. Will the NGT and Authority that be listen? more

I fully agree that a vehicle should be allowed to run on road upto its life. There should be no ban merely of so many years. But at the same time the vehicle should be roadworthy and should have been maintained properly. For this every vehicle should seek fitness certificate in every five years if not in three years. more
