as a doctor having own private hospital ,we never charge above our rate list of association, for poor patient we give discounted rates.
it is just like a tea on road will cost you rs 5/ while in 5star will cost you 100/ charges for different category is different.if we build hospital with only deluxe room or only with gen ward it will not serve the purpose. most of time you can have beforehand idea what will be your expenses.
person earning one crore give income tax of rs 30 lakh while person earning upto 3 lakh have no IT liablity while both are using same national resourses more

R R Kutty, 1st class to general me charges of facility is more, but the tea, water , samosa is not charged more.....in ac TC charges comparitively more because u wanna space illegally, nothing else is highly priced,,,, more
Your some points are valid and acceptable, but.... 1. the adminstration for a general ward and deluxe is same, doctor treating is same, medicines same(some hospitals dont allow medicines from market, Margins 30%), sir kahi toh sochiye patient ke liye. Sabne kamaana chahiye lekin koi limit bhi hoti hai na. 2.Room facility change 50-75% hike in overall cost.?? Charge for rooms as per rate but why are the other charges shooting up..... kuch toh justification hona chahiye na...... (just a debate, nothing personal) more
I agree with Ravi goyal . It is like travelling in train ,1st class 2 nd Ac 3 rd ac and so on . More over require to spend more for more facility and comfort .But there are many places hospital charges very exorbitantly too .Charges also differ as per the qualification of doctors , like MBBS ,MD and DM .When a hospital hire them they need to be paid very high and it should be paid by the customer. Government should come up with pricing formula for each service ,facility and medicine , such as consultation ,nursing for each type of sickness ,cost of medicines of each ,margin for hospital ,current ,water ,other facilities etc .There are many other expenses .These all should be categorized and fees fixed .Then come supply and demand. Government can appoint a committee to study the entire affair , study cost and profit .In this case they can find everything and fix charge for each service . Private hospital is like any other business but they should keep up professional ethics as they are caring the life . more
Dear Ravi Ji, You are right and you must be doing a very good job too. But, I have a recent experience with one of my friend. For his throat pain he went to a hospital. Dr. checked and gave some medicines. Asked him to Pay Rs. 1,100/-. Patient told Dr. to adjust in the mediclaim policy. Immediately, Dr. took the mediclaim policy and admitted him for 4 days. Both are happy. Is'nt it a corruption on the part of both. Just to save Rs. 1,100/- both colluded and made a whopping bill for insurance company. Unless consumer is also awakened and ready to sacrifice little, this will continue. more
1.i m not crying on commercial rate we are paying for light ,water and property tax which are 1.5 times for electricity,12times for municipal taxes and water we have to take our charges. 2.if there is no demand of special room with the same resources we can admit three times no of pt. 3.we have to engage administrative staff, accounts deptt, reception staff, and other executive besides medical ,and nursing so we have to put administrative charges 4.few illness/surgical operation can be done and offered at package rate at small hospital if public goes to those small hospital instead of large multispeciality hospital. 5. public wants to go to 5 star hospital where they are served 5 to 7 times with juice, tea,bf,lunch , dinner with smiling executive they have to pay 5 star charges. 6.medical science is complex science where u cant predict everything more
