Just came to know that one of my senior colleagues met with an accident at home and was unconscious. He had to be taken to the hospital(private). He was told by the doctor (she was part time ) to immediately admit him as he is serious and she also ordered to get tests such as CT scan etc (he had injuries to his head). Thankfully the lady had already called her brother who is educator. He told the doctor he would like to take the patient to another hospital which is his friend to which the doctor refused and told her assistant to inform the police that it is a case of accident and unless the police register a case the patient cannot be let out. The man called the local corporator and things were immediately sorted out. The owner of the hospital personally called and apologized. Why do we need to make money at the expense of some one else health and play with the person life ? Should not the MCI or Medical Council of India have a check .....

Mr Chandrasekhar - Health for All can be executed fast and with ease. Why should we always look at India as a large country with a large population. For implementation of welfare schemes why not look at each district as an independent country? Make the Collector of each district responsible for implementation of government schemes. Send all the Collectors to say Switzerland (all States in India are larger than this country) on a fortnight's study-cum-tourism trip, ask them to keenly observe not only the medical facilities but also the discipline, punctuality, public transport, cleanliness etc. For Narendra Modi to make India a Switzerland is impossible, but for a Collector to make his district one is easy. Of course, the Collectors need to be given all help and support by the government without any political interference. more
