One of the consumer in Sith Delhi has informed and in fact has shown me the bill that DISCOM in the area i.e BSES Rajdhani has not provided the subsidy despite his unit of consumption is less than 400 units. The bill raise cleverly for 29 days. Most of the consumers might be feeling the subsidy is based on 400 units for 31 days of the month consumption. It is to be noted that 400 units limit is for 30 days of the month and not 31 days.

Any other consumer who might have faced such error may please report here as the bills are computerised. If the problem has been encountered by one consumer well other consumers might have also faced the same. more

It. Is common case facedby many consumers I raised the same issue with bses but found the same response as yours and paid bill with out subsidy due to this average funda adopted by bses .one more thing is also observed that bill paid on line differs from the Bill in hardcopy And when paid fully on line then next bill shows arrears in next bill for the difference amount. One of the comment made by a member has deleted his own comment. The comment was w.r.t the manner of calculation of subsidy. I am reproducing below the relevant point: INTERPRETATION/CLARIFICATION 6. The term “month” indicated in the Tariff Schedule shall mean a period of 30 (thirty) days. For the sake of brevity, all parameters related to billing including eligibility of consumer for Subsidy shall be prorated on 30 (thirty) days irrespective of the number of days in calendar month/no. of days billed. 7. In case of doubt or anomaly, if any, in the applicability of tariff or in any other respect, the matter will be referred to the Commission and Commissions decision thereon shall be final and binding. Hence in view of foregoing in my view the subsidy need to be calculated for eligibility as : 400 units/ 30* 29 days billing= 386.67 units i.e 387 units which is the cut-off point for eligibility or not. If the consumption is less than 387 units, the consumer should be entitled for subsidy. more
The bill which we got from TPDDL is for 35 days / Which if analysed wil be disadvatage for the consumer - Because the slab may change - and rs 7.80 per unit will become payable for the last slab. While if it is for 30 days / the last slab will be at a lower charges. this is cheating. more
Many thanks really good to know more
