Subject : Medical Scheme for Senior Citizens
Sir,
In the last four years, under the able leadership of Mr.Akhilesh Yadav , Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched so many social welfaresSchemes,which are quite useful for the common man .The one scheme especially extended to the pregnant woman is the most laudable .Under this scheme six months paid leave has been
Extended.Under this scheme, more than 5 million have been benefitted,which is a remarkable decision .
To my mind ,there is one more category who need your kind attention and these are the Senior citizens of the state.Senior citizens ,once they are out of active life ,are being left to their family members ,to be taken care of.As of their own social contacts ,with an advancing
age ,they also get diss-associated their colleagues or to say they become more dependent on their family members.
In the present day scenario,with joint family system breaking fast on one side and on the another side family size is shrinking fast .This situation is seen even in smaller town .The situation in the villages is more acute ,because of poor connectivity and availability of
helping hands .
Seeing the above facts ,Senior citizens also need an urgent attention to redressal of their problems.Following suggestions are hereby given for your kind attention:
1.Senior Citizens be provided transportation facilities from their homes to the nearest hospital and back to home.
2.This facility need not be free .The incumbents may be charged according to their affordability.
3.Senior citizens may be provided the attendant's facilities on the basis of payment.
4.Fees in the private hospitals should be at least half of the normal fees and priority should be given for their treatments .Similarly, all the medicines should be provided at the cheaper rate.
5.Senior citizen card should be issued ,which may be used to take the priority in every Hospital so that they may not have to wait for a longer period.
6.All services should be provided on a telephonic call ,for which a unique number may be generated.
7. Senior citizens who do not have any source of income,various facilities may be provided free of cost as it is being done in so many countries or to provide some amount for his livelihood .
8. This amount should be directly deposited in the incumbent account on monthly basis.
9. Nobody should be allowed to withdraw the money except the incumbent .

I hope all fellow senior citizens will agree with my proposal and will request State governments to implement the same .
