Prime root cause for wastes on roads, traffic jams, illegal use of public space and footpaths for vending purpose, resulting into chocking of road widths....I challenge to take a drone street views of whole city and 90% of roads have this problems. While the local authorities and traffic police have diligently failed to do their job.....
Street Vendors/Hawkers in Ahmedabad do in general maintain cleanliness by way of having their private waste bins for users. However, street conditions are not hygienic enough so that eatables sold by these Street Vendors/Hawkers in Ahmedabad, can be safely consumed without seriously risking health. Therefore, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation should give the required priority to ensuring that (1) streets are dust free, (2) people do not spit and blow their noses on streets, (3) people do not have to use street corners for urinating and (4) bringing all Street Food Vendors.Hawkers under some kind of strict quality control for ensuring that food stuff sold by them is intrinsically safe and fit for human consumption. I am not a medical or public health expert. In my humble opinion, Experts should be consulted, if necessary from Europe and USA, and AMC should set an example in India by making Ahmedabad a city where street food can be considered non-hazardous. I have no doubt that Ahmedabad is capable of achieving this, only will is needed.
