The problem is dual in ntature and one cannot blame the police force which has to stand in the heat for 12 hours and monitor every vehicle, especially where no one follows signals and keep zig zagging on the wrong side. Should the police monitor the signals or keep running behind everyone who is on the wrong side. People themselves have to follow discipline. Already under staffed, governments need to employ more and more people into the force. In ahmedabad people have absolutely no traffic sense or discipline. Each follows his own personal rule and looks for the first opportunity to jump the signal.
Very poor in traffic management even on Traffic junctions/ crossroads. Never stop people coming to crossroads from service roads, people who come on proper roads suffer bcoz of such people.
They always concentrate on looting money from loaded trucks or innocent people.
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
