I am B.V.S.Prakash from Hyderabad. My experience with OYO has been disastrous. My daughter wedding was at Hyderabad on 20th December 2015. I had made reservations through OYO and paid 100% as advance for one location and 25% for others. Totally I booked about a 100 room nights ( for 19th & 20th December ) for my guests. I did not want my guests wait at the reception counters and pleading for early checkin on 20th early morning when they arrive and so booked some rooms for 19th itself. My staff went to one Namo Suites around 12 noon on 19th where I had reserved 9 rooms for 19th & 20th. They refused to give us rooms. They said they had only 6 rooms available and I could pay directly and take it. We paid and took them. Pricing totally different.I started calling OYO and finally they refunded Namo refunded the money. LOOK AT THIS - I paid 25% advance and booked 9 rooms for which I have a confirmation printed in y hand. OYO site - my bookings - strangely was changed ( updated in their language ) to 6 rooms. Who consented ? No clue.We next went to Orange Suites - where we had 5 rooms for 19th and 10 rooms for 20th. I paid 100% in this case - about Rs.22500/- for 15 room nights.They said they had no rooms available. Our arguments, pleadings, etc did not help. OYO says they updated our booking to another place 1.4 kms away - walking distance - according them.Who consented ? Now both these properties were within 100 mtrs of the marriage venue Image Gardens. We went to a third location Falcons Nest, where I had 9 rooms booked for 19th and 20 rooms booked for 20th . These were meant for a group of Doctor friends of my wife coming from different places. They said they would not honour any reservations of OYO. I had paid 25% amount as advance here. I paid cash directly to the hotel to get the rooms as I cannot afford have my guests stranded on the roads. two more places were we booked rooms. Only place Neera Residency received us courteously and gave the rooms as per the booking.
A day before the wedding on 19th December I was fighting OYO between 12.30 pm and 5pm trying to get solutions to ensure my guests would not be inconvenienced when they arrive early morning next day.
They gave updated booking at some other places where we did not even go. I pressed the panic button and quickly quickly booked rooms in closest available locations and my staff were running around working on logistics to move guests in and out.
I am now contemplating action against OYO. Just waiting to wind up wedding activities and settle bills pending.
Who ever is reading this , please note OYO is going to burst - don't trust them. They are cheats. Hotel guys say, go and fight with OYO. Lot of oney is with OYO as advance. I spent a lot to need based including alternative accommodations and cabs. More then any thing else, I wasted good 5 hours on 19th fighting them over phone.
On a complain, they wrote back on 30th December apologizing for the inconvenience and informed that my refund was being processed and that would reflect in my account in 7 days or so. I did not get any thing ( not that a refund can reverse things) and they have not responded to my reminders.
I can prove each and every allegation with documents. My phone data would show the time I was talking to them, even if they wipe out their call data.
