Since you & your family resided (born & brought up) nearby AMC & KGH ( moreover you are inteligent - analize things well) your findings will be correct. Of course AMC Professors are good. KGH ward boys addicted to dricks and neglect duties and expect tips. Every institution depends on higher up for sanction of expenditure and most of the administrative heads fails to take quick rather prompt decisions and explain the reason of lack of funds. Even NRI old students or Doctors donating lot of funds KGH not able to use them - 'coz the reasons well known to the doctors working in the KGH. Most of them r having their own private practice or refer to the nursing homes they attend -so they r spoiling the equipment donated by NRIs etc. Doctors also became money making machines. we treat them as Gods

Unfortunately, I have less regard to AMC. I agree that every institute has their goods and bads. But when you loose your loved ones due to negligence of a doctor, you lose patience to think about the institute's history.
This happened in my case. In May 2005, my mum was admitted to the hospital due to stomach ache and within 4 hrs she was dead due to sudden failure of her heart. Following discussions with the ward staff, it was identified that it was due to medical negligence.
What did we do at that time, rather a question should be " What can we do in a country where there is no importance to life". You get the best treatment if you come from a wealthy family or well known person from the society. A poor person in India has to live at the mercy of the administration. It is such a shameful day when Doctors offered us an apology and said we did not do it purposefully.
As a result of this incident, my dad is still in a shock and finds it extremely hard to move on.
So, my views about AMC are not great and I want administration to focus on providing quality care to patients across the sections of the society.

Andhra Medical College along with KGH happens to be one of the pioneering Health Care Centers in the country. Students from this great institute have been serving across the globe in different countries. Patients from Odisha, West Bengal and Assam come here for treatment @ KGH. Vizag attracts medical tourism. Of late the heads of AMC & KGH took pains to improve the infrastructure for better patient care and made one of the best health care centers in India.

Andhra Medical College (AMC) is an Institution with a reputed pedigree and alumni, which produced several stalwarts who went on to serve society / communities in different parts of the world. The college is complemented by the King George Hospital (KGH), which serves several people in the North Coastal A.P. Distrcits of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. Of late, it is observed that the pressure on the infrastructure has increased, with growth in the population and the health care needs,
which, KGH and AMC are finding it difficult to manage.
