Aurangabad Municipal Corporation - Just like many Municipal Corporations in India - is known for Huge Corruption, Least Development, Incompetent Staff, Excessive Political Interference. The city is a network of Dirt and Pot-Holed roads with Garbage Dumps everywhere. While the people of Aurangabad are equally responsible for the present state due to their low civic sense, indifference, casual attitude; it is the sheer negligence on the part of AMC that the city today faces acute problems of basic infrastructure. You name any facility and it is in shambles. Municipal taxes must be collected effectively and consistently with penalizing the defaulters. If you want to ignore some large areas from the tax and levy collection just due to political interference and corruption, the tax target shall never be met. If tax is collected properly and in time, quit a good revenue shall be available. Entire public delivery mechanism shall be handed over to citizen groups for enforcement, vigilance and evaluation. There are chances, then, of some improvement. Else, it will move to Aur-Ganda-Bad.
