I really do not know what measures are taken by BMC/BBMP. In my ward (ward No 132, BCC Layout / Chandra Layout area, extension of Vijayanagar, South West Bengaluru ) the menace of stray animals (includes dogs, cows, buffaloes and rats) are on increase. All basically thrive on food wastes thrown out on the main and cross roads and empty sites. Out of these animals, stray dogs are a big menace for children, senior citizens and strangers. Several children of construction workers have been, over time, seriously injured and killed by dog bites. Even the adults are not able to live peacefully. In the middle of the night sleep is disturbed by loud barking of street dogs. Never seen any corporation personnel addressing this problem in this area . Once I tried to plead a corporation employee to do the needful. He curtly said that is none of his business.
In Vyalikaval HBCS Layout , ( Opposite Manyata Tech Park, Back Door of HKBK Engineering College).Stray Dogs have created the whole Mess. Please let me know if some one can take care of this .
With No proper streetlights It is very difficult to walk or even drive two wheeler at Night.
Sterilisation will definitely yield results. It has to be 100% . BBMP should ensure this. unlike yester years we rarely see puppies on the roads. After the present generation of neutered dogs die in natural course there will not be any next generation...Results will be evident within a few years.
