[1] The new road laying is fraught with lots of lacunas and the bills for the contractors are paid without proper scrutiny by the paying authority,As such the road conditions of Bangalore city are below sub standard leave alone standard quality , whenever the repairs are done they are sub standard and there is no one to check them. [2] The heavy traffic that has developed in the last decade or so at Bangalore does not stand a comparison to the available roads . Pool driving and sharing is not implemented here at Bangalore, We see in the peak hours of the day only one person driving the car / two wheeler to office which can be avoided with pool sharing [3] Illiteracy among the police and the vehicle drivers [PUN] two wheelers are running on the footpath putting the pedestrian on high risk while the police are lethargic to streamline the traffic, but they stand and watch the traffic jams while the signals are handled at their whims and fancies. The need is ""As a driver I have to educate myself to following the traffic rules and do not wait for a cop to direct me , As also the traffic cops should understand their duty and responsibility and do not accept bribes on violation of traffic rules, but should book the offenders and make them realise their mistakes, but on the contrary traffic cops just sell themselves for Rs.100/- or Rs.200/- .......
Main problem is 2 wheeler traffic.They just don't follow rules & squeeze in & out wherever possible.Controlling them & make them abide the rules will really help the traffic flow.Next worst offenedrs are cab & tempo draivers with overspeeding,wrong parking,rash driving.should be punished with heavy penalty. BTP are doing a commendable job in controlling the traffic in spite of bad roads & driving conditions....
I SUGGEST THAT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT TO BECOME MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE, RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL MINOR REPAIRS LIKE POTHOLES FILLING, MINOR OBSTRUCTIONS REMOVING, WATER LINE DIGGING/ELECTRICAL LINE DIGGING AND FILLING TO NORMALCY TO BE HANDED OVER TO TRAFFIC POLICE WHO USING THEIR CIVIL SERVICES CELL CAN UNDERTAKE THE ABOVE REPAIRS UNDER A BUDGET SPECIALLY ALLOTTED.
