Bangalore Police

Nothing will change till we become aware that the Police needs a new master. I mean they must not have to report to politicians. Unless we find a solution to this we will never get proper law and order.

The primary problem is only due to interference with the law and order. Ther recent supreme court judgment canceling Justice Chelameshwar's constitution bench order is a very good example of how judges and politicians can align themselves to have an environment that suits them.

Generally the Bangalore police has been good. But the government in last 5 years has been worst. I have known police being high-tech, active and do help citizens to maintain peace and calm. But the story has been not the same right from the time this new government took over, the number of patrols have reduced, antisocial are finding it easy since the police is not doing much patrolling. In my area which falls under Chandralayout limits the area was peaceful and calm, until recently where bar/dance girls have occupied houses nearby. Illegal activities have risen sharply, girls get picked-up/dropped back and they create ruckus b/w 12am-3am. These things are only possible when law maintaining bodies go hand-hand with these elements. There have been complaints made but it seems the problems cannot be curtailed and they continue to exist. These girls have the audacity to say that they can tackle the police for some money and these are happening because of outsiders who are not law abiding. Its also true that the political influential individuals are acting behind the scene to run the show. Even the if the police wants to maintain some law and order, the elected representatives act as hindrance.

The number of patrols have become significantly less. This is leading to more law and order issues.

They have been active but due to interference by Politicians they are unable to carry out their duty to the fullest extant

Although they are not proactive , but at least they are reactive, they respond at the earliest, a recent personal experience has given assurance of their positive response for a complaint
