Bangalore Police

A total paradigm shift in the way the policing is done needs to be done Today it's not the lathi yielding cop who talks tough that's required but somebody who connects with the community Provides solutions to the issues of people within and as well as people who needs to connect from beyond territorial jurisdictions. A digitally empowered Citizen empowered and knowledge based force is the requirement. The adverse chain of power circles need to be dismantled for a more efficient force

I do not agree that Bangalore Police is inefficient as stated. It will have it's own limitations including manpower strength. If was not, there would have been chaos in the roads and more accidents. Any police force needs assistance from public. Of course, corruption within the force looks to be high and should be effectively tackled by the authorities. It is high time, police administration is taken out of state control through a police commission.

I feel that law and order maintenance by the Bangalore Police in the city is quite good.

I rate my Bengaluru Police as One of The Best. Only need is THE COOPERATIVE FEDRALIST ACTIVITIES with other departments like BBMP, BWSSB, BMTC, TOWN PLANNING, LOCAL COOPERATIVE BODIES-RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONS, ETC. Only one department of Government can not be completely effective in maintaining Law and Order. According to me Law and Order is not 'NO RIOTS' in town. it is how traffic is flowing, how buses run on time, how parking places are disciplined, how the ticket are issued, etc, etc....... People KNOW, if there is a way to catch the corrupt cop it should be in participation with Public. Then it works well. We need to bring THAT DAY soon to a reality. I wish well to the Honest Officers always.....

I'm specifically speaking abt the Banaswadi police station. I think they are just there to make money.
1. There are boys who come from the middle east who create such a commotion in Kamanahalli - riding bikes without license & when they are caught the cops take 100 bucks n let them go. There are some eateries which are allowed to be open after the designated time to cater to these boys and the cops turn a blind eye. The cops go to every shop and very openly collect bribes without an ounce of shame.
2. The Africans: they come out only during the night and create so much noise and disturbances. No amount of complaints to the cops helps because the cops are scared of them and they openly agree to it. Something needs to be done soon if not the residents are going to take things in their own hands & that's going to be ugly. It has happened in a few cases already.
3. There are robberies that take place in broad daylight - chain-snatching, houses being ransacked & mostly bikes. With the first two there is no way to get back anything it's a lost cause. With bikes, if the cops feel that we have some pull and are threatening to go to the commissioners office, the bike will be found the very next day outside our house (I witnessed 3 instances in 7 months). There is a nexus between the thieves & cops and this is a well known fact.
