Chandigarh Police

The Chandigarh police is lax in taming snatchers, challaning vehicles emitting excess smoke, having pressure horns, altered
silencers and rehris fitted with old 2 wheeler engines and stopping begging at Light points, markets , outside food joints
and religious places. The police personnel keep on moving in Police Vehicles (INNOVAS) but do not get out to nab the law
breakers as if their job is to enjoy long drive. The police patrol should in civil dress that too on bicycles or 2 wheelers. The laws are in place but implementation is a casualty.

Extremely Disappointed with Chandigarh Police.They filed a false FIR against me under section 353 and 332,both of which are non bailable.ironically 3 days later the concerned IO got arrested by CBI in a bribery case for taking money to fie/quash FIRs. Because there was no evidence in my case,they did not arrest and have not even filed a chargesheet,despite it being 3 months.Complained to Chandigarh Police HQ to cancel the FIR based on strong evidence but they say its Vs State,so we have to take State"s side!Therefore applied for anticipatory bail as advised and got it instantly,even the judge said it is a case for the sake of filing a case based on CCTV footage.My question is why is the police force so pathetic?Why cannot it act in a more professional manner based on facts instead of harassing honest tax paying citizens and small businesses?

Our Chandigarh traffic police is good,Infact it works under the pressure of three govts. Officials,who influence often to save the offenders.In fact the fault lies with us (public) who very often break the traffic rules,do wrong & atrocious parking in addition the slow moving vehicles like cycle rickshaw,cycles or animal driven vehicles add to the misery of traffic chaos.Mass transport system will improve the quality of traffic & also show the real quality standards & activeness of our Chandigarh police.

The focus of CP is only on challans.at every chowk 3-4 men In uniform having challan book in hands gives very poor picture of a smart city.enforcement on overspeeding is too excessive ,even in Delhi and other metro it is not seen in city driving.It should be dispensed with.
