HMM WONDER WHY THOUGH SOME STREET LIGHTS ARE ALMOST OUT VERY OFTEN IN CERTAIN AREAS.....PROBABLY SOME ACTS NEED TO HAPPEN IN THE DARK...............CHAIN SNATCHING BURGLERS, HOME-BREAKERS, AND THE REST OF THE LOT OF COURSE!

LIGHTS ARE THERE AND THEN THEY CAN BE DAMAGED IF REQUIRED BY VANDALISM

AND THEN OF COURSE THE SAME UGLY HEADS OF ALLOCATED FUNDS FLOW FOR MAINTENANCE, CUTS AND COMMISSIONS AND INSTALLATION OR RESORTING TO NEWER TECH AND RESISTANCE FOR THE SAME!!
THE MOMENT SOMETHING NEW IS ADOPTED THERE ARE 10 OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES AND HEADS PUTTING UP 100'S OF REASONS WHY ITS BAD AND POLITICIZING IT TOTALLY FOR THEIR NARROW INTENTS!!
CAN THE SAME OPPOSITION PARTIES SAY GOOD THINGS ALSO ABOUT PROJECTS THAT ARE GOOD AND IMPLEMENTED BY THE RULING PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????

TOTALLY SAD TO SEE THAT EB STREET LIGHT FIXING GUY , MOST TIMES RISKING HIS "LIFE" TO GET DONE THE JOB, IN ORDER TO MAKE ENDS MEET!! WHAT A LAND OF "HUMAN ANIMALS", MASKING AND PARADING IN THE GARB OF NATION-DOING-GOOD "POLITICIANS"!!

I GUESS THERE HAS TO BE A "MAX NUMBER OF POLITICAL PARTIES 'IN OPERATION' " IN THE FIRST PLACE, OTHERWISE NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE WILL EVER GET DONE.!!

THIS COUNTRY IS ALL ABOUT PLAYING POLITICS BY POLITICIANS RATHER THAN
DOING GOOD FOR THE NATION AND ITS CITIZENS.!

Generally ok but maintenance could be better.

Street Lights keep failing frequently and do not work during weekends when they are needed the most especially in areas where there are clusters of Liquor Bars. Repeated complaints do not yield long term solutions and when a complaint is lodged with the Call Centre of the Greater Chennai Corporation or thru their portal, the local officials get offended and suggest that we call them going forward to lodge any complaints. When complaints are lodged directly as suggested no action is taken to rectify the problems. The overall quality of Service rendered is Terrible

The erection of street lights are done without any imagination and done mechanically. In many places, the lights are not focused to fall on the street/road, and many light lamps are erected in between the big tree branches, and only shadow falls on the road. When E.B is questioned about this, they say the are adopting the distance factor and they are not worried whether light falls on the road or not. How this country could be improved?

I live in CIT COLONY 5th CROSS ST. MYLAPORE. In our street, a New community park was inagurated during the previous DMK regime. The whole project of the sprucing of the park and the street were " sponsored " by a noble soul and our street had full
LED Lights along with the park and we had the brightest street in the neighbourhood. When the AIADMK Govt. came in, the street lights became Sodium Vapour lamps and the " Extra Brightness " Vanished. Today, the Vth Cross Street has Sodium Vapour Lamps only. Chennai Corp does NOT DO MUCH TO PUT UP A BRIGHT SHOW...!!.. BUT WHEN SOMEBODY SPONSORS THE BRIGHTNESS - EVEN THEN, IT WILL DO NOTHING TO KEEP UP THAT BRIGHTNESS....!!...
