The police should co ordinate with the corporation of chennai in identifying and removing some of the trees obstructing the traffic. For example the tree opposite to Parsan complex in Kodambakkam high road. The big tree is not only reduces the usable road and also a traffic hazard. There is no point in thinking that cutting trees are a crime. It should be viewed on the needs.

there is heavy traffic in sowcarpet particularly Narayana mudali street,kasi chetty street people cant walk even and there is no traffic rule there is no entry sign but nobody follows becuase traffic police is not there he will be busy on main road to book case to fullfill their target nobody enter in street if any peroson got ill no chance to go hospital he will died on middle of road due to heavy traffic so there must be strict t rule particularly for fish cart and two wheeler

Traffic police should come down heavily on unauthorised bumps,aka speed breakers,put up by locals.
I also understand that the police force in Tamil Nadu,especially its traffic wing, is thoroughly demoralised today,owing to overwork,inadequate promotional avenues etc.,which only the political leadership can address.

1) The traffic signals are placed too low, getting blocked by buses, vans and in trailing traffic cannot see the signal.
2) The time lapse between orange and red is not same, hence resulting in signal jumping due to direct change from green to red, or orange signal being too short.
3) Signal jumping is a norm today and I do not see violaters being caught.
4) Use of sensors to check signal jumping, excess speed is required on mass scale.
5) Please put proper nation standardised road signals, have written exams before practicals for licesnse issuing. I have seen police themselves violating the traffic , hence do not expect them to be qualified to check others.
6) Use cameras at sensitive locations, or shift the locations to check cell phone use and other violations like, driving in wrong side, parking anywhere on the road , carrying dangerous loads on 2 wheelers, rash driving, pedestrians not crossing the roads at designated points or violating the traffic signals.
7) Taxies and private public services, buses drive rash, keep honking their horns- but police keeps their eyes, ears closed.
7) If I can see and write all this what are the MINISTERS and Beaurocrats doing_ why cant they enforce law and prevent accidents and deaths.
