The traffic problems in Ghaziabad are unending and beyond control. Despite the fact most of the roads are quite good and wide but un authorized and lawless vehicles specially Autos and Rickshaws block most of the crossings and roads. They drive with full impunity as no one is there to check them. Most of these Autos and Vikrams even do not have readable number plates. There were hundreds of cases of passenger looting by these Auto drivers but till today police never succeeded in even installing proper number plates on them. Most of the number plate are either scratched or covered with mud intentionally or covered with some black cloth. Any one can see this but poor trafic police people can't notice these anomalies. Near old Bus Stand on Ambedkar Road opposite Santosh Hospital or even new New Bus stand most of the times roads are under seize of the Autos. The other reason for Ghaziabad traffic problem is large scale encroachments by un authorized vendors on all the roads or places of public movement. This City has gone beyond control and no one is interested in sorting out this mess. Immediately after new CM took charge many of the encroachments were removed but just after a week all of them were allowed to come back. In Vaishali, Raj Nagar Sector 10, Shastri Nagar main road whole area is captured by unauthorized vendors and no one to check them. Its just failure of all the authorities either Police of GNN no one cares for Public.
In Delhi people have some fear for Traffic Police but corruption is also there . Very rare you come across a Police man who will penalise you for violation of traffic rules otherwise most of the time you bribe them and get away. In colonies there is no check on young guys rashly driving mobikes & scooties without license & helmet with irritating pressure horns and teasing girls. Police just sit in the market place like a mute spectator and take no action against this nuisance .
In last around 10 years, I have not seen any effective traffic control system in NH-24 (particularly upto UP Gate from Dasna). Even if traffic police are there, they are seen chatting among themselves standing at the side of the road.
Very bad traffic management. No control on wrong side/without helmet driving. No cop to be seen in case of traffic light not functioning until there is huge mess. Very poor deployment of traffic staff. Seems the senior cops are least interested in the traffic management
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
