Garbage collection is in two phases.Within the locality the sweeping and garbage collection is done regularly and the colony kept clean. This portion of the work is done in an exemplary manner. This garbage collected from within the locality is dumped in large bins on the main roads abutting the locality.Garbage collection from these bins leaves much to be desired.Unauthorised restaurants have come up in the locality and these dump huge amounts of garbage in the bins which overflow with this garbage. The garbage spills over on to the roads and clogs the drains in the locality leading to overflow of sewerage.

The problem is not with the garbage collectors but with the GHMC itself. There is no appeal in garbage collection.GHMC has not made arrangements to segregate garbage at their level in the colony. All households are yet to be given separate bins for segregating the garbage into wet and dry. When some garbage collector or sweeper retires he or she is not replaced but additional work given to existing workers as a result they compromise on the work on hand. The fact is GHMC is being milked by the State Government to fund its populist schemes and the TSRTC.As a result they have no money to spend on what are their responsibilities.State Government is not giving the Municipalities and Panchayats their dues. They are always strapped for cash.
It is very well managed and my sincere and heart full thanks to the people collecting garbage. Their service I believe , serving the earth goddess and human service. Thanks again
