Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation

Tar roads laid in greater Hyderabad got washed away every year during the rains due to highest levels of corruption and due to lowest levels of quality, supervision and technical capabilities of the contractors. Roads are dug almost every year causing huge inconvenience to millions of citizens and huge wastage of their taxes. Almost all the roads in greater Hyderabad do not have walkable walkways at all. Roads are impossible to cross for the pedestrians at most places thus getting killed.

Most of the roads in Hyderabad are narrow. Millions of illegal ramps make them narrowest in the world.

Worst in the world as well as Universe. Shabbiest work done where in Cement roads wash away for one rain. Most corrupt and can be rated among the worst.

Need not speak about the roads of Hyd. Just conduct a survey among people and they will look for an option of -1 to rate it. The state of road is so bad. All patch work with no uniformity. The GHMC has FB and twitter too but when it comes to issues they will never respond. Just a deaf ear. So many places need flyovers but nothing is in proposal. Balanagar flyover is already sanctioned but there is no traces. Its a NH but the road is pathetic. Half of the road is dug on either side. Our ministers not their office responds to the queries or woos. If the ministers just care of to travel on a bike on the road they will understand the pain of commuters. Just travelling in high class cars with all green signals will never help them understand. Moreover they all from the ground and they know the ground reality. Only thing is that they are turning a blind eye and deaf ear as if everything is perfect. I don't know how much impact this will have on GHMC.

Need a fresh look at the design and execution. Sheer black topping is not the answer and often this has resulted in the height of the road going over the residential land lavels, there by the water from street flooding is forced to flow into the house, rather than the other way around.So also is the case with drain covers, which remains un attended and potholed around the unfinished manhole cover. This problem can be easily over come with due diligence and a professional approach. Rearch needs to be initiated to create a new method of carpetting, where the old laid strip can be scratched away afte damage, and recarpetted so that this problem can be avoided. Necessary, drain arrangements, slopes and the destination as to where the drained water will reach after a down pour should be thought over, and that is where the Road engineering and its application comes to the fore.

@ Road no.3, Mallikarjunal Colony, Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, first cross road the drainage work carried out during 1/2016 duly cutting the road, the repair work is not taken up even after a lapse of 9 months.The vehicles cannot be moved.
