Gurgaon Police

In recent times one can see occasional police personnel on duty which prompts me to rate this with 'one star' - the earlier impression was that maybe there is no police force in Gurgaon ! Citizen friendly policing in Gurgaon has a very long way to go!!

Nothing positive has changed in the traffic to rate them higher - the traffic is actually becoming more chaotic! People increasing drive on the wrong side (an extremely dangerous practice), jump red lights, non-functional lights, no helmets, aggressive driving ... you name the problem and they are all increasing. Even if one has not done anything wrong the sight of a policeman actually makes one wary rather than feel assured!!

Police are almost never seen on roads. Police should report to Courts instead of the Executive, else this chaos will continue.

Gurgaon Police (for that matter, any Police) needs to set the gold standard for law abidingness and governance. Barring some pockets of traffic police checking - there is far more scope for ensuring that laws are followed. People should be able to confidently walk on the roads. Public service centers should be efficient and responsive. Middle men / "influential citizens flouting rules & laws" / flagrant traffic rules violations / etc. should be eradicated. Till I see such progress, my vote can at best be "mediocre" ....

i just don's have confidence in Gurgaon Police esp. traffic police. There sheer evidence is lack of traffic sense, breaking rules by gurgaon residents ...all this has been possible becoz there is no control mechanism. i have personally seen traffic police breaking traffic rules like plying on the opposite side of the round.

3yrs back, i complained of ATM theft to gurgaon police at sec-40 and till now no solution. they are lease bothered to any of the complaints. Infact registering an FIR itself is challenge with them. They show lot of resistance in registering an FIR. Gurgaon is surviving on RAM BHAROSE......

My family is living in Gurgaon for over 10 years and I joined 5 years ago. We had no need to approach police even once. I can't therefore assess their responsiveness when approached. But that is a proof of effectiveness as well.
