Gurgaon Police

Police and comfort are missing. We still have British Era mind set. We can find police men very easily not following rules- without seat belt, helmet missing, faulty no plate, driving wrong side... but very active in challans.

There is no fear of police by who must fear them... commoner fear harassment.

However all set and done, Gurgaon police is improving: nothing paid for verification of passport this year..

Police is not to be seen where they are meant to be...be it crime prone spots, traffic points etc. Very seldom I have seen them proactively managing the city. There is a basic problem of city administration..its foundation, its structure & the capabilities. Honestly, it is a concrete jungle without any proper town planning. There is a constant struggle to manage the ever burgeoning traffic, no proper signage at critical spots, and road dividers being broken by crazy drivers to cross over. There lies a great opportunity to earn revenue thru penalizing the guilty who break laws/rules, and use the funds to build capability. Alas, that does not seem to be the government's priority..

In very basic terms. If you feel safe in a city, then the police is doing a good job. I don't feel safe and hence they are not doing a good job. You go to the police station and they are least bothered for your concern. You call 100, the number is busy, and by the time you get connected, the criminal is already gone. You are trying to address the Gurgaon law and order problem, the wrong way. Most of the crimes in Gurgaon happen due to road rage. This happens as no one follows rules. No one follows rules as there is no enforcement. LAck of enforcement is due to poor Governance. Want to fix this? Talk to me!

Its a zero actually, daily cases of car jacking are heard, it feels unsafe to be in Gurgaon.
