Hotel Woodlands Kalpetta Wayanad

For the past 15 years or so, whenever, a hotel stay was required in Kalpetta, myself and family always preferred Hotel Woodlands, Kalpetta, Wayanad(Kerala). There is nothing whatsoever to complain about Woodlands, Kalpetta. Earlier, they were providing complimentary breakfast, which was tasty. Recently when I made a booking there, I was told that they have discontinued complimentary breakfast.
This time around, we stayed there for 3 days in 2 non a/c double rooms. Their check in time is 12.00Noon and check out 10.00AM, which has become a standard norm in most of the Hotels in India. But some hotels have flexible rules and allow customers the option of 24 hrs check-in check outs. On check-out day, I had talked to Woodlands Reception that we be allowed to check out at 11.00AM. The guy there replied curtly without looking at me that at the maximum we should check out by 10.30AM or 10.45AM, and not beyond that, as they have to give rooms to the incoming customers. Although I had no problem in checking out at 10.45AM, the way he replied offended me extremely. His impolite reply made me change all the good opinions we had about this hotel. “One bad fish can spoil the whole pond”. In hospitality industry, courteousness and pleasing manners, makes all the difference.
