There is no remedy available against the developers/ builders who are not giving possession of the property in time, not respecting the deadline and want every other consumer to pursue a remedy in court, in order to get their refund, legitimate dues back or the property delivered to them. The developers /builders are on a cheating spree in Kolkata.
I booked a house property on a project viz. IVY Greens of Vedic Realty (marketed by Indiabulls Housing, Kolkata) in the year 2013-14. Five years have gone by since then more than 40% of the payment has already been made by me, now the developer is neither refunding the money nor are they constructing the unit that I booked with them. It is our hard-earned money/ life-long savings and I am losing interest, paying house rent and facing harassment every day only to buy a home/ house property for myself. I am feeling completely helpless and I am sure there are many who share more or less the same experience. Practically speaking nothing has changed since the RERA/HIRA has been enacted.
Likewise is the case of Shapoorji 's Sukhobrishti project ( started in collaboration with the Govt. of West Bengal). They collect money/ booking amount in lakhs and retain the same for at least one quarter (i.e. 3 months) and then they communicate/ declare that the applicant did not qualify in their draw of lots. This happened at least twice with me. Kindly streamline the process.
How will the industry/ start-up etc. flourish in a country or a state where people are cheated of their hard-earned earnings, resulting in the fall in their purchasing power, consequently, fall in demand for goods and services. If there is no demand for goods and service there shall be no demand for production, no production means no employment. And the vicious circle continues.
I request the govt. through local circles to take strong steps and streameline the entire process to ensure timely delivery/ possession of the house property to the buyers of home.
