For the first time in five years, the Staff of ICICI Bank, Runwal Residency, Chembur, was discourteous, no down right RUDE.
I had some work and the person on the counter was missing, when I enquired the whereabouts, I was curtly informed, the counter is closed and to come next day. I told him, earlier under similar conditions, someone or the other ALWAYS helped me, but no result.
I went to another counter (Privilege banking plus Senior Citizen), this officer earlier had the audacity to ask me to go outside and make PHOTOCOPIES of the official forms, so I did not expect any help, but just wanted to check. Again no help from him! But he informed me to try at another counter.
I went to the third counter. The lady manning it was missing and I was waiting for over five minutes. Then I saw the lady and enquired, if I can talk to her. And she RUDELY shouted at me.
This was the height.
In the very same branch, if an officer saw somebody waiting, he used to approach him from another counter and resolve the issue. The culture was so great, that even the branch manager used to man the counters. Once so often he would inquire, how he can improve the service. But today's experience was something VERY DIFFERENT and needs urgent attention.
I posted the above story on the FB and my friends suggested, it is backlash of Demonetisation.
They also suggested, I send the letter to ICICI bank FB page, which I did. I got an answer in one hour, we are sorry and have forwarded the letter to the branch for further action.
Now three days have passed and No action.
Is it really demonetisation or ICICI has generally deteriorated? ...... I don't know.
