It is Honour which is the best (sole) motivation for a soldier once combat is joined. The Govt is not doing enough to uphold the status and honour of the men in uniform. Constant down gradation of rank vis a vis other central Govt services and non implementation of OROP in its exact form and contesting the NFU in Court are just some of the factors that show that the Govt does not walk the talk so far as recognition of the services of the soldier is concerned. Also the attempt to equate para military with the Army Navy Air Force is incorrect as their training and manifesto are totally different. By an Act of Parliament no one outside the Armed forces can wear the uniform worn by the Defence Forces. This should be strictly implemented, toreiterate the pride of the Forces and not confuse the lesser informed public about who is who in the forces hierarchy.
I am pained and surprise by the pronouncement of Chief of Army, that he will take action against the soldiers who put their grievances on general ;posts..
Of course earlier he had said that he will investigate the matter. Apparently chief of Army thinks that the general public is not aware of what is happening in such cases in the army.
We are of course proud of our Army but le him not forget first principle of the management that encourage the staff to let him know what is wrong in the current situation and how it could be improved.
After Mr.Suresh Prabhu took over the reigns, the state of Indian railway platform has become fantastic. Earlier we used to see/get dirty things(and even dirty smell of toilet(i.e., urine smell)) on the platforms/walkovers. Now, there are cleaners standing alert in these areas and maintaining it pretty clean. I observed this especially in Bangalore and Mantralaya railway stations. Also there are many services like 'destination station alert' and dedicated telephone numbers for different services etc.,
Kudos to Mr. Suresh Prabhu and his team for the great work which was not observed for many years earlier. This is the best example to highlight that 'IF ONE WANTS TO DO THE WORK/SERVICE, HE/SHE CAN DO IT AT ANY COST IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SIZE OF THE ORGANIZATION'.
