God only knows how traffic is managed. Less said the better

The traffic condition needs to be evaluated as their are so many factors involved while we talk about the traffic.The pressure of traffic is increasing day by day. The traffic on road in front of Rly station towards Chinkara is always congested due to the entry of Auto rickshaw towards Rly station auto stand & the mini buses. Besides there is a pressure of traffic coming from the MI road. A proper road map for Auto rickshaws & stoppage of Mini buses need to be reviewed.

Presently, the condition of Jaipur traffic can at best be said to be "WORSE" an improvement of a few shades from "PATHETIC" about 2 years back. Nonetheless, this should not be the desired rating. A minimum rating of GOOD should atleast be achieved. Firstly, the Traffic Policeman needs immediate training on handling the crowd and vehicles at Peak Rush Hour, Rush Hour and Normal Hours.

Secondly, they need to be informed categorically that there is nothing like a VVIP or VIP category of citizens or leaders or officers from administrative services.

Then comes the line of officers to whom these policeman report. Maximum incorrect practises and intimidation takes place at this level. Whenever, you go to Airport or Railway Station one can always find some vehicles allowed to park in no parking zone. These are vehicles of so called civil servants (either this nomenclature be changed or if they are for the citizens then they cannot be treated like a Maharaja), Police staff, Military staff truck or jeep/car, vehicles of local bodies like panchayat - Sarpanch, President, Secretary, etc. of inconsequential bodies... political parties, etc.

Ideally, vehicle of citizens with debility or elderly persons should be helped to be parked nearer and assistance provided.

Similarly, if the traffic rules are to be followed and implemented, it should be done in letter and spirit. Even in one way traffic, we find a cycle rickshaw, tuk-tuk, hand -cart, bullock cart, cyclists, 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers etc, flouting the rule and most of the time and going the wrong direction.

Citizens need to be informed through RWAs, strict but polite and firm police force.

Another point which needs to be highlighted is to provided protective gear to the constables or policeman who is exposed for the full duration of his duty time on road and crossings.

The traffic Police needs extensive training in citizen relationship and also clarity of trafic rules. It has been seen that police acts mostly during campaigns and not normally in curbing common problems of seat belt, helmet, crossing red lights etc. It has been often found that city buses and mini buses seldom follow trafic rules but they hardly stopped and fined. Similarly there is no check on over speeding motor bikes and cars without check except when some cesure van is stationed. They ahve to be more rational.

There is enough scope to improve traffic police in city of Jaipur.
The traffic constable are deputed but in very large number of crossings they just sit under the shade of a tree at crossings.
At times it is observed that they never object to bikes/tractors/cars coming on wrong-side. Several times I have asked them to stop these but to no effect.
Those who perform duty on important points in city also need to improve a lot on their efficiency.
A Compliment: Some of the constables are very helpful to public in general.
