It has improved a lot after the last state government was routed in 2011, but scope of more improvement is there. More over the quality varies from locality to locality, it should be more uniform.

My area is in Burra Bazar. This area is packed up with hawkers, food stalls and pavement dwellers. Street cleaning has no means. Its just half cleaned and some garbage left cornered of the road, which spreads on the road in public movement making the area more dirty.

In my area of Baranagar, Kolkata the garbage collection facility is there. Coming regular basis more or less. But temporary storage at place to place ( on road side ) is unhealthy.... not separated proper... so pollution happens

In my area in College Street, people do not have any kind of civic sense. The shops through their garbage on the road, the residents through it on the road. It is very difficult task to keep the place clean. The local MLA or Councillor never visit the place except during celebrations.
