It has developed and has been improving.

We stay at Behala (west) and under Kolkata Muunicipal corpn. From last few years, cleaning the dumping area is very much better but considering our population, services are not sufficient for making a healthy zone. I think corp. must be aware of that and they have definite action plan for that. But we are the general people always want the ultimate result. Requested to corpn. authority pls. show something better immediately.

Actually Kolkata should follow Dubai and Singapore in this matter.
They clean the city at night. In Dubai, two vehicles move together. The first one picks up the garbage mechanically from vats in fixed time at night. The second vehicle also picks up the empty vat, washes it with water spray. Then they spray disinfectant.
In the morning, Dubai looks clean.
In Singapore also, they perform the cleaning at night. Singapore is the cleanest city/ country in the world. Nobody is allowed to throw anything on the road or public places. There are designated spots. Anybody throwing garbage etc. May be fined heavily.
Spitting in public places also punishable offense.
In Vienna also cleaning is done at night.
Our govt./ municipalities should learn from them and follow similar practices.
Most important is sincerely of purpose.

I stay in cossipore area in kolkata. But over here the roads are not clean & even you will find that the places where the garbages are dumped are not cleared regularly. It smells so badly. I am so disaponted that i don't want to rate it with a single star. I want to give negative rating for this. Please look into the matter as quick as possible.

We stay under South Dum Dum Municipal Areas in Dum Dum Cant, Kolkata-65 where promoters and Syndicate Raj blocks the part of the road with construction materials. Pedestrians or vehicles are at their mercy. Got No respite even complaining several times to the Chairman,South Dum Dum Municipality with a copy to PS to Chief Minister and PS to Urban development minister. The drain in front of our house is blocked and clogged by dumped construction material. Any suggestion from anyone for redressing the problem. I suggested that municipal authority can levy charges for dumping of materials on the road
