While it is true that street vendors are a nuisance, we have to remember that street vending is a result of increasing population and lack of employment opportunities. I am sure that street vending is not the preferred employment for the majority of vendors, who will shift to a more stable profession given half a chance. They thrive because buyers have few options. Municipal Corporations, while planning new settlements, did not provide for market places where the population can buy things.

Vendors create lot of problems in almost all areas. Even areas like Shahnazaf Road, Nawal Kishore Road are full of vendors creating problems in traffic movement. Nothing is done due to their connivance with police & municipl authorities.
