Why does the civil aviation allow the airlines to sell tickets at THREE times its base price during th festive season? The recent hike in the baggage allowance from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1275 is atrocious & tantamounts to looting. For ONE hour journey Chennai - Hyderabad the ticket are priced at Rs. 15,000, I believe the airlines are paying bribes to BJP govt to allow them to price anything like they want. Imitating west is not good, then allow all nonsense things to be legalized in Hindu land i.e. pornography & all drugs.
Do not imiate the west, make guidelines for west to take inspiration & follow east .

This is the worst ministry doing nothing, but so much to do. Flight travel is no longer a luxury it is a necessity for trains are still moving at 55 kms/hour speed. Chennai - Ahmedabad is almost 2 days journey. Hyderabad or Chennai to Delhi is another 1.5 day journey. Business & Private industry people cannot have the luxury of govt servants in terms of holidays & cannot dream to travel in train.
The growth of population & stagnating trains or no additional routes or tracks laid, thanks to urbanization, there are no tickets unless some one book in advance on 31-Dec for rest of the year.
So flights are now necessity. More flights are required. Chennai - Hyderabad all flights are full & flight tickets are costly a fortune. Buses are unpredictable for they do not stick to timings & some inter-bus rivalry buses are stopped mid-way passengers are made to suffer or get stuck in outskirts for hours.
More flights are required. Tickets prices should be limited. There should be cost audits on airlines so that they limit their profits to a reasonable levels. Every business should have some profit. Some airlines routes are extremely erratic pricing. Chennai - hyderabad = Rs. 4,500 Festive season Rs. 14,000 Chennai / Hyderabad have many tamilians/andhras, plus
Cinema industry people are travelling
Chennai - Ahmedabad = Rs. 4,000 Festive season Rs. 6,000 for there are no gujaratis in chennai
Chennai - Delhi Rs. 4,200
Chennai - Dubai is Rs. 18,000 (to & fro)
See the erratic pricing in above examples ?? Does it have any costing sense ?

Indian Airlines tickets are somehow differently priced. When everyone is charging say Rs. 5,000 Indian Airlines charges for the same destination Rs. 7,500 = who will buy tickets & travel in it ??
It is still the best airlines in terms of service. But who will buy tickets? Need to relook its costing system & make it competetive. Making it private or privatization is NOT a solution.
Telecom industry is privitized but quality of mobile services is so poort that calling Airtel to Airtel = does not connect. So learn basic lessons & do something. Privitization is NOT an answer to all questions / problems.
