Airports Authority of India (AAI) should be closed down immediately. Minister of Civil Aviation, should invite private companies, both domestic and foreign, to take over the running and management of all airports in the country.
This is one area which is crying to be freed from clutches of the vested interests. To begin with, Air India must be privatised, and the sector needs to be shorn of all manners of the 'VIP culture'.
Ministry of Civil Aviation is allowing Private Citizens in the VIP List for No Security Frisking at Airports. Now that PM has declared Every Person is Important (EPI) and disallowed use of Red Beacons on cars by VIPs, the least Ministry of Civil Aviation can do to stop VIP culture at Airports: 1. Every VIP should be subjected to Security Check by frisking as is done for EPIs. 2. Advise Airlines not to delay any flight to accommodate a VIP who reaches airport late. 3. Do not allow priority boarding.
