Ministry of Power

Please publish yearly what percentage of the population in each state has power supply (may be from renewable or non-renewable sources) and compare those statistics year-over-year and between states.

Despite claims of sufficient power in the country, situation in rural ares is bad. To check corruption in billing, govt. should install prepaid meters everywhere.Some corrupt consumers alongwith billing staff, accounts people and other funtionaries are causing lot of damage to the system. Unless everyone in the system is held accountable, nothing is going to change.Governments must listen to the voice of people and know the ground reality.

I fail to understand how the Ministry has recognised the country as power surplus. Ministry has failed to optimise the cost of electricity to consumers and at the same time quality and uninterrupted availability is missing. I am yet to find a justified reason why consumers can not get the electricity at a tariff which shall not exceed one and a half times the average cost of generation that is in the region of Rs.2.50 per kwh at nation wide level.

The non-transparency at the ground level in Electricity departments / authorities / organisations is to be addressed. Any untoward incident at the customer place leads to crisis and panic due to be absence of power. Electricity department processes being non-transparent creates the scope of unethical practices....... Electricity in a household is like oxygen for life.....
