Although service is showing some improvement a lot more needs to be done. Often the trucks are blocking the narrow roads causing big traffic jams. Why can the authority not arrange to collect garbage from narrow streets at odd times such as say after 10 PM or early morning say 6 AM to avoid such hassle for commuters who are in a rush to reach office in time? Some people lose half day salary if they report late by more than 10 minutes in the office - just in case you do not know that.
BMC has stopped collecting dry garbage in Chandivali area. Even though all large societies have started treating wet garbage BMC has not given a rebate in Property Tax. Citizens are paying tax to BMC for services including wet and dry garbage collection. I had suggested to BMC to assess the quantity of wet garbage in each ward and install an Automatic Organic Waste Converter Machine in each ward. This will minimise the distance over which wet garbage is to be moved and compost generated can be used in Public gardens and excess compost can be sold.
