Atrocious....the only solution lies in getting rid of corrupt politicians and babus of Mumbai Municipal corporation who are hand in glove with shady contractors
I am very concerned about the plants placed in the dividers. They are changed practically every fortnight. Why can't we have plants that can grow and provide some shade? There are trees on the road that bear fruit.. no one seems to collect them. In a country where there are poor people, just distribute it. Interlocking tiles on the road and parks are a hazard as it is easy to trip and fall on them. Is there a scam with expenditure over plants and inter-locking tiles??
1= Footpath sold out to hawkers 2= Roads sold out to permanently parked cars/buses. Why should a BMW car worth 1 crore be allowed to be parked on public road for 20 hrs in a day. 20' x 10' (= 200sq ft ) costs Rs.60 Laks @ 30,000 Rs/ft in Bandra. So car owner must pay 1% per month or 60,000 Rs/month as parking charges on any public place. These car owners dont buy parking place in their bldg costing 10 to 20 laks. They prefer cheap road parking. All car owners be told to own the parking place or sell the car & use public transport. Do we make roads for parking ? or driving ? Our travelling will become smooth if we ban parking on public roads, like Singapore.
