Nagpur (NGP)

Nagpur Railway Station is one of the important Junction as it joins East-West, South-North India and about 100 more trains passed from this station. Nagpur Railway Station needs lots of improvements.
1. The electronic boards showing the Arrivals/Departures of trains have to be displayed at all the three entrances/Exits (two West, one East), and other more visible places.
2.The only escalator at West entrance seldom operates, most of the time it is switched off.
3. At reservation counters proper seating arrangement is required to be made, Coupon/number system is required to be introduce so one doesn’t required to stand in Q for a long time and will approach booking window when his number displays on the board.
4. Parking place for 4 Wheelers and 2 Wheelers is presently not adequate which should be made specious by removing eateries and shops (these eateries and shops are throwing trash on the roads making surrounding shabby) at West side entrance of Railway station.
5. Ajni Railway Station (Sub-barb of Nagpur) is being developed but all trains passing through stations should get two minutes halt so that rush at main Nagpur Railway station can be minimize as most of the passengers from West and South-East can board/alight at Ajni Railway Station.
6. Ajni Railway Station also needs the electronic boards showing the Arrivals/Departures of trains and the electronic board displaying the coach No and train No should also be displayed on the platforms so that passengers can have the convenience to approach designated place in time.
7. East side of the Ajni station is required to be developed and used to cope with swelling passengers traffic in coming years.

The refreshment room is most un hygenic how they maintain account god only knows. no bills are issued. How they receive the material from the base kitchen is unaccounted. you never find the catering inspector visiting the canteen because he is botherd only about commission in purchases not about the day to day quality of food items. they use the banned low micron poly bags.Now Comesum says we serve only coffee of Rs 40 & no other coffee & in the last 2 years nobody has complained. I had taken the ASM alongwith me to see for himself & he was shocked to learn. Also there were cocroaches in the packing area. Packed water & packed items are being sold over MRP.

There is much cleanliness, never seen before. Use of battery operated sweeping machines should be considered as the cable does hinder passenger movement when the machine is taken around and there is a danger of electric shock due to faulty insulation which is bound to occur in time.
