OLA cabs are adopting unfair paractices.
My wife had hired an Ola.MINI TAXI at 9-45 am go to doctor in Chennai from Lloyds Road(Next to AIADMK office) to Mandavellipakkam,a distance of about 4 kms. When we got down at M.pakkam ,we were presented a bill of Rs 251/- whereas the .correct fare will be Rs 80/-.Even the driver was shocked.
we tried thro'driver's phone and talked to call centre, who said that we should talk to customer care.
when we tried the c care and talked , they maintained that it was peak pricing and hence the charges.I said that at the time of booking there was no indication about peak pricing, and hence it should not be charged. They said no.In order not create a scene and to live upto our appoitment , settled the bill to the driver, with the idea of talking to c care afterwards for refund of excess amount charged.
Later I took up the matter thro' e-mail. Stereo typed replies talking about peak pricing was the reply mail. When I escalated the matter, it was said that they will call to resolve the matter. Once they rang up and I was not able to attend to their call. They asked for an alternative convenient time , which I suggeste but they never called up.
They giv an excuse that this is to incentivise the driver to respond quickly. When I checked with the drivers, they say only at the time of dropping and billing , they will come to know. It that is the reality, where is the question of incentivising drivers as they claim. this is also true of our driver who dropped us.This type of fleecing customers and even when .we raised a red flag, they continue to defy ,speaks low of such call taxis. The action needs to be taken to stop such malpractices.Ever since we have stopped patronising OLA , though we had no cause for complaint for 4 years.
