The situation is "no different" in last 2 years. There is a lot unwarranted spend happening but not to the area where it must be. For exame: lot many speed breakers (of course the worat quality one can imagine) are being constructed with zero logic or common sense in place. Cleanliness is a BIG concern. Traffic situation is getring worst day by day. Most poorly managed signal system helps nowhere. In fact it gives a lot of chaos, confusion& traffic jams. May God help this "so called" IT hub. Lot more to mention but ...
Garbage management is beyond the capability of Municipal Corporation meaning employees and corp orators. They are interested in only big projects costing huge money. Pune and PimpriChinchwad corporations have started big projects for garbage disposal. None of the plants are working as was told by corporations. This problem can only be solved by participation of citizens. The first step should be recover cost of failed projects from corporation employees and Nagarsevak. Second step would be to develop by testing known techniques for disposing wet garbage (Garbage that disintegrate in local atmosphere either on its own or using an outside object. Third step shall be ask citizens to use proved techniques to use wet garbage in their gardens. Fifth step shall be sell dry garbage after sorting to a private firm for extracting usable metal, plastic etc. and sale to their respective users.
Garbage dumps are overflowing and wet and dry segregation hasn't started even after distribution of 2 separate dustbins door to door.River are in bad state because of drainage water without process is being discharged there. No or very less public toilets.
Cleaning of streets is irregular. But the bigger issue are the hawkers and fruit sellers who leave their rubbish on Aundh Rawat Raod opposite the Aundh Hospital. Also people who dump their rubbish on either side of the bridges connecting Aundh to Aundh Rawat Road , in the river and in the defence area. Preventing dumping by educating people tand fining will automatically lead to cleaner roads and streets.
