1. It (awareness of common people towards cleanliness) has started crawling with many more to come. But one think is quite clear most of the people has started thinking about cleanliness even in their routine life which was earlier thought to be Municipal Corporation's baby). 2. Municipal corporation should work independent of political influence. In many cases they work for local Nagarsewak rather than common citizen. 3. Best example for this is approach road to Apleghar Society, Kharadi from Nagar road which would be the worst road of entire PMC region and people stack garbage on the access road which is some time cleaned by "Adarpunewala cleaning staff". I personally clean and maintain Lane No. 7 where no cleaning staff come for cleaning.
What is more important is efforts and intention to clean our city and which is there . Both PMC and citizens are trying their best and plastic ban will improve the condition further. Adar Poonawala's initiative is great going and hope he will continue to support the cleanliness drive of our city but a little bit only is needed for all of us to inculcate civic sense and keep not only our houses but our surroundings also clean
This is common on many roads and we also see some stray dogs hovering around and mosquito's menace is other added and we see the swine flu and dengu fever cases increasing
There is a lot of scope for improvement -> 1. At many places garbage is still dumped on open places. I have first hand experience outside of my society. When complained, PMC workers do clean up but no attempt is made to penalize the folks who litter in the first place. 2. Garbage trucks while carrying the garbage actually litter on the road as garbage flies out of these truck as they are never properly covered.
