No one has planned for anything to do with this Eastern approach to Nizamuddin Rly. Syn.
Prime approach road is occupied by a private taxi caucus, private parking is miserable, the allocated parking lot is occupied by trucks & abandoned vehicles, hawkers overflow into approach road, filth is abundant, and auto/ taxi touts overflow

Despite many trains starting and terminating here no infrastructure has been provided. It has worst approach to the station from both side i.e eastern as well western.
I am nri-Southern africa.My experience with Niammuddin railway station is horrible.
1.People do not follow any Q,they fight like bher-bakri no sense behave like animals.
2.Platform width is very less and full of station vendors.No pricing system for porters(Coolies).
3.The platforms despite of designated for VIP and long distance places trains like Rajdhani,August Kranti trains etc are so stingy and dirty.You never feel any ambience at platforms.
4.Behaviour of police men is harsh and unpolite that better do not talk to them unlike in our country like Lesotho.
Sarai Kale Khan side of NZM side is just hell...i feel embarrassed to mention it here as it is known to every one ever gone to Nizamuddin railway station. Every thing about it is so bad that it's very difficult to rate 1/10. if this message going to add any seriousness to authorities then i request at least to remove the encroach and make the entry/exit smooth. also care to regulate n manage the auto/taxi wala's, hawkers properly, they don't even spare women, they will keep approaching even after several denial. you will end up facing at least 10 of them at the exit only.. why do they require to approach passengers like that and sometime a denial end up with an slang/abuse in return.
NZM station has multiple problems which i highlighted previously also.
1. both approach roads are not in tune with a major metro station. platform no1 side is the main entrance and one has to pass thro' a residential area for a fairly long distance with multiple speed breakers. on Sarai kale khan side, there is complete anarchy. So semblence of any orderliness what so ever.
2. no prepaid taxi boths on any side; so it is free for the taxi caucus to decide the loot.
3. no nearby metro station within walking distance.
4. no adequate facilities for refreshment s anywhere except in one corner of platform no1.
5.. No escalators / ramp
6.Porters routinely overcharge.
7. Administrative offices are on plat no1 but no long distance trains leave or arrive on it. Thus the best platform is not utilized for commercial purposes. Other platforms are very narrow.
